How I Raised My Seed is a gathering centered around open discussion regarding best practices for raising a seed round. Every other month, we invite two or three founders who have successfully raised a seed in the past few months and foster an open dialogue around what worked and what didn't.
Speakers:
David Silverstein, CEO of Ned
Dave Silverstein currently serves as the CEO of Ned, a white label lending platform that makes it easy for lenders to innovate and build capacity. Lenders across the country use Ned’s end-to-end system to power a range of revenue-based financial products that streamline qualification, disbursement, and collections. Where credit or collateral often create problems for borrowers, Ned's revenue-based approach to underwriting and repayments provides an affordable path for lenders to scale.
Prior to Ned, Dave worked across public and private sectors first in Washington, D.C. where he served as Press Secretary to Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. For the last decade, David has operated at the bleeding edge of innovation across tech, media, and digital sectors, most recently as Chief of Staff to Michael Kassan, Chairman and CEO of Medialink, a leading global strategic advisory firm, and prior to that as GM and SVP of SMOSH brands, one of the world’s largest owned and operated digital publishers.
Josh Schwartz, Co-Founder at Phaselab
Phaselab is a pre-seed-stage startup helping companies deliver on the privacy promises they make to customers. Phaselab makes it easy for companies to enforce privacy policies across their data stacks, minimizing risk and enabling development teams to focus on building, not compliance.
Prior to Phaselab, he served as CTO at Chartbeat, the leading analytics company for global media publishers. In his role, he led Chartbeat’s product and technology teams through its growth to profitability and its exit in 2022. A computer scientist by background, he researched machine learning and computer vision at MIT, Cornell, and the University of Chicago.
